Alone, Together

There has never been time like this before.

The invisible killer lies in waiting

to take your life, and mine, and those we love.

And the fear is worse of all—

the fear of dying alone, unloved,

unwitnessed by the loved and the loving.

But in every crisis, there is an opening into new consciousness.

Perhaps in every end there is also a new beginning?

Suddenly, you see the intense blueness of the sky,

                                                         even on a cloudy day.

And you see the intense yellowness of the butter cup,

                                                                  even at night.

Just as Nietzsche once said

where there are tombs, there are also resurrections.

Hauser’s beautiful cello concert is

                                        one such resurrection.
